The Department of Immunology in Genentech Research is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our efforts in developing novel therapeutics for the treatment of ocular diseases, with special focus on degenerative and inflammatory retinal diseases. This individual will lead a team that will use molecular, biochemical, cellular and functional approaches to investigate the role of various molecular pathways in disease biology. The successful applicant will also lead efforts to translate identification of pathogenic pathways into therapeutic approaches for clinical development through the collaboration with other groups and departments within Genentech. Who You Are We are seeking an individual with a creative mind, an inquisitive nature and a strong motivation to lead projects from the bench to the bedside. Our applicant should have a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD and post-doctoral training or equivalent experience in the area of immunology, neuroscience, or ophthalmology, with a experience in molecular biology, cell biology, or biochemistry. Demonstrated academic achievement, as evidenced by publications in high impact journals, is required. Our desired applicant should also have demonstrated leadership capacity and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary scientific discovery settings. Exceptional applicants will also have a strong experience in molecular/cellular immunology or neurobiology, with ability in primary cell culture, genetics and physiology. The next step is yours.
