| Night AdministratorJob summary:The night administrator provides leadership and support to all medical, clinical and other areas of the hospital after normal business hours. This position will communicate with all hospital departments and community agencies to ensure that patient care is delivered at the highest possible standard. This position is responsible with the Nursing Supervisor for the coordination of patient throughput and placement. Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Nursing or management or administration. Masters degree preferred in Business or Hospital administration. Previous experience in similar positions preferred. Minimum three years of experience in a hospital. Functions: ???Understanding the cause and effect cascade of ineffective night time care and improving throughput. ???Exhibiting leadership in the night time environment ???Setting clear direction - short, medium and long term ???Delegation, deployment and support of staff???Ensuring appropriate orientation and support of new night time staff ???Encouraging accountability and responsibility in the staff around you ???Accessing drive and ownership in other night time staff ???Utilizing behavioral motivations to get the best from staff ???Organizing the night for maximum achievement and minimal risk ???Creating a compelling work environment under the unique night time environment ???Prioritization skills in the night time environment ???Practical considerations in accessing more specialist support ???Ensuring the best reception and most effective response from on-call staff ???Ensuring continuity into the day shifts ???Networking and collaborating with all departments???Follow though on organizational priorities such as productivity, throughput, efficiency etc. ???Ensures compliance of the night shift staff with CHW and Mercy Hospitals policies and JCAHO and regulatory requirements.???Actively rounds on all units and departments staffed on the night shift to identify and assist with removing any obstacles to providing the best possible service for the patient.???Demonstrates focused communication on patient flow, patient/staff issues and discharges to eliminate obstacles relating to patient flow.???Identifies, reviews, and communicates any unique educational need of the night shift staff to the education department.*~CB~ ....
